Però... com ho celebraran a Hèlsinki?

El lloc triat per a les celebracions de Fi d'Any a Hèlsinki és la plaça del Senat (Senaatintori), davant de la catedral. Allà el públic assistent podrà ballar amb la música del grup finlandès Tuure Kilpeläinen & Kaihon karavaani. La màgia i el circ també tindran el seu moment estelar de la mà de Noora Karma, i de la companyia Race Horse Company. L'alcalde de la ciutat Jussi Pajunen, i el bisbe Irja Askola, faran un petit discurs. Les celebracions culminaran amb un gran castell de focs.

The New Year will be welcomed with a midnight open-air dance at the Senate Square on 31 December 2013. At the Senate Square, the public will be encouraged to join the dance, accompanied by Finnish dance music. The music will be provided by Tuure Kilpeläinen & Kaihon karavaani, with Anna Puu performing as a guest star. Through the dance, the public will be granted a larger role in the event than in previous years, and mid-way through the event, glow sticks will be distributed to the spectators, so that they can create a sea of blinking lights at the square. In addition to music and dance, the programme will include a magic performance by Noora Karma and a new circus performance by Race Horse Company, a circus company that tours around the world. The New Year’s speech will be given by Mayor Jussi Pajunen. Bishop Irja Askola will also give a speech. The evening will culminate in a spectacular fireworks display, provided by JoHo Pyro. The fireworks will be viewed best from the Senate Square, as the colourful display will concentrate on the area around the steps of the Cathedral.

Per primera vegada la ciutat de Barcelona celebrarà una Festa de Cap d'Any, i serà a l'avinguda Maria Cristina. Les tradicionals 12 campanades seran seqüenciades amb focs d'artifici. Una figura humana de ferro de 15 metres d'alçada, l'Ésser del Mil·lenni (de la Fura dels Baus), serà l'encarregat d'acomiadar el 2013 i donar la benvinguda a l'Any Nou. Aquesta celebració porta el segell de la Fura dels Baus i combinarà l'aigua, la pirotècnia i la música. Els Castellers de Sants faran una actuació en què jugaran amb l'espectacle d'aigua de les fonts de Montjuïc.  Les campanades aniran acompanyades de volcans de foc i d'una gran explosió darrere de la Font Màgica. Tot seguit, l'acte culminarà amb un espectacle de pirotècnia combinada amb les fonts.

Barcelona has a new Christmas feature this year. The city is putting on its first-ever New Year Chimes celebration. It will be held in Avda Maria Cristina, opposite the Magic Fountain of Montjuic. From 11.30 pm, the venue for Barcelona's New Year Chimes celebration extravaganza will include performances from 'L’Home del Mil·leni' (the Millennium Man) and 'castellers' (human towers) as well as other fun and music activities to make the last night of the year a unique experience for anyone keen to welcome in 2014 as they enjoy this live show. The celebration is scheduled to finish at 12.30 am.
