Helsinki Airport, once again, reopens its doors to other cases not related only to the transport of passengers. In this blog you could already read the first time that the Helsinki Airport (Finnair and Finavia) highlighted the benefits of Helsinki Airport as the airport for fast transfers between East and West by arranging a unique event that turned the airport into a uniquely challenging skaters’ playground. Celebrated Finnish professional skateboarder Arto Saari gathered four skaters from Asia and Europe to share their passion and show off their skills at a one-of-a-kind, pop-up skate park on the airport grounds. This time, it will become an ideal place for fashion, a gateway to seven of the best fashion designers from China, Korea, Japan, the UK, Sweden, Denmark and, of course, Finland. _L'Aeroport d'Hèlsinki, una vegada més, torna a obrir les seves portes a d'altres ocasions que no estiguin relacionades només amb el transport de viatgers. Si en aquest blog ja us vam parlar de la primera ocasió en què l'Aeroport d'Hèlsinki és va convertir en alguna cosa més que en un important hub per als viatges entre Europa i Àsia... en una pista d'skate amb la presència d'Arto Saari, reconegut skater professional finlandès i 4 dels millors skaters mundials... en aquesta ocasió es convertirà en un escenari ideal per a la moda, en una pasarel·la per a set dels millors dissenyadors de moda procedents de Xina, Corea, Japó, el Regne UNit, Suècia, Dinamarca i, és clar, Finlàndia.

The fashion and the travel industries share a long history, since air transport has played a key role in the evolution of fashion trends worldwide, says Johanna Jakal, vice president of brand marketing and loyalty Finnair. Fashion inspires and connects people around the world every day, approaching cultures, as our flights do. With this special initiative and runway scheduled at the airport we celebrate our excellent connections between Europe and Asia, showing the work of some of the top designers of both continents. _La indústria de la moda i la dels viatges comparteixen una llarga història, ja que el transport aeri ha jugat un paper clau en el ritme de les tendències de moda a tot el món, comenta Johanna Jakala, vicepresidenta de marca, marketing i fidelització de Finnair. La moda connecta i inspira a persones de tot el món diàriament, apropant cultures, com ho fan els nostres vols. The participating designers have been carefully selected to show some of the most interesting and inspiring trends of fashion in Asia and Europe. Their names will be announced on the website matchmadeinhel between March 8 and April 20. Tuomas Laitinen, director of fashion Finnish magazine SSAW, will be the curator of this runway so special. Helsinki Airport is a fascinating environment for some of the biggest names in fashion that will show their collections on 24 May.
