What today I like most... is this Villa in Finland.
L'edifici s'ubica al cim d'un turó orientat al sud, cap a l'arxipèlag i al llarg de la costa d'Espoo, a tocar d'Hèlsinki. Abans de la construcció del nou edifici es va haver de derruir una antiga vila. Els vells arbres de la propietat van jugar un paper important en el procés de disseny, ja que les obertures dels interiors es van determinar en funció de la seva ubicació .
Woodnotes Design i el minimalisme dels seus productes van marcar l'estil visual de l'edifici. Era el desig del client que l'edifici mostrés la mateixa sensació que produeixen els materials de l'art tèxtil de Ritva Puotila.
L'edifici té dues funcions: funciona tant com la casa per a la família del client, i com una sala d'exposició per als productes Woodnotes.
L'entrada principal es troba en un atri a l'aire lliure però tancat, mirant cap a l'oest, cap al sol de tarda. A l'atri també s'hi pot accedir des de la cuina i per un pont i l'escala de la sauna.
Els espais conviuen en estreta relació amb la llum del Nord, i les superfícies blanques es mimetitzen amb el paisatge què focalitza constantment l'horitzó del mar.
L'estructura de formigó de l'edifici reposa sobre pilars d'acer i es revesteix amb rajoles de color blanc neu. Les superfícies dels interiors són lluminoses i els terres són majoritàriament de roure massís i pedra calcària.
The building locates on the top of a hill facing south, towards the archipelago spreading along the Espoo coast. An obsolete old villa was cleared out off the property before the construction of the new building. The neighbourns of the property are a ten year old flat roof detached house and a villa from the 50s. The old trees of the property played a big role in the designing process. The openings of the interiors were set by their location. Woodnotes Design and the authentic minimalism of their products set the direction for the visual style of the building. It was the client's wish that the building would display the same feel of aunthentic materials that is also found upon Ritva Puotila's textile art. The building serves two fuctions: it works both as the client's family home and as a showroom for Woodnotes. The main entrance locates through a closed outdoor atrium, facing the West towards the evening sun. The atrium can also be entered from the kitchen and via a bridge and a staircase from the sauna. The spaces live with the Northern light and adapt the white surfaces to the scenery in which it locates all the way to the distant horizon of the sea. The concrete structure of the building was casted on the location over steel pilars and cladded with snow white plastered tiles. The surfaces of the interiors are light and the floors are mostly solid oak and limestone.

It's a beautiful house. Too much cleaning, though :) And the little TV set is too far away from the sofa. But perhaps there are many. I have no idea where you have found this, I have never seen it live.
