Today we'll travel to cold. We'll travel to the remote village of Jukkasjärvi (a name very Finnish, on the other hand... "Jukka's Lake") in Northern Sweden, where there is an ice hotel. For 25 years in a row, this little village has created a hotel made entirely from ice and snow mixed with ice particles and air. Each year the hotel is inspired by a different artistic theme, and all the rooms are designed by artists from all over the world that apply to design an art suite and be part of the creation process during November and December. 'In November, Jukkasjärvi becomes a melting pot of influences, cultures and languages. Everyone comes together to create art – it is a fantastic journey to be a part of', says Jens Thoms Ivarsson, Director of Design på ICEHOTEL. _Des de fa ja 25 anys en aquesta població s'hi construeix un hotel fet completament de gel i de neu congelada. Cada any el tema canvia, i les habitacions les dissenyen artistes de totes les disciplines que soliciten participar en la seva construcció entre els mesos de novembre i desembre. Al novembre, Jukkasjärvi es converteix en una barreja d'influències, cultures i idiomes. Tothom s'uneix per a creat art. És un fantàstic viatge del que former-ne part, diu Jens Thomas Ivarsson, Director de Design på ICEHOTEL.
This is the first one ever built, and the largest in the world. It takes up to three months to build the hotel. It has also a top restaurant and an icebar. _És el primer hotel de gel que es va construir i el més gran del món. La seva construcció dura uns tres mesos, i compta, també, amb un restaurant i un icebar.
