Aquesta casa situada a Espoo, prop d'Hèlsinki, el nom de la qual és Villa Kotilo, va ser dissenyada per l'arquitecte Olavi Koponen, de r2k architectes. En finès kotilo vol dir cargol... potser la forma en espiral d'aquesta casa pugui recordar a un cargol. Villa Kotilo has been designed by architect Olavi Koponen of r2k architectes in Espoo, Finland. In Finnish 'kotilo' means snail... maybe the spiral shape of this house may look like a snail.
La casa combina l'ecologia i materials naturals com el ciment, l'acer i la fusta, amb una forma excepcional i harmoniosa. The home combines ecology, traditional materials such as concrete, steel and wood, but an exceptionally natural and harmonious form.
La forma en espiral otorga a la construcció 231m2 en un terreny de 300m2 per a encabir-hi tres habitacions, cuina, sala d'estar i bany. Les estances per a la vida familiar es troben a l'edifici principal... The spiral shape dwelling is comprised of 2,486 square feet (231 square meters) of living space. The house envelopes three rooms kitchen, living area and bathroom / toilet. The actual living quarters are located in the main building...
