La Basílica celebra el 130è aniversari de Gaudí com a arquitecte de la Sagrada Família i per commemorar aquesta efemèride s’ha creat un desplegable on es proposen tres rutes que permetran una aproximació a la vida i l’obra de l’arquitecte. Antoni Gaudí started working on the design of the Sagrada Familia 130 years ago, on 3 November 1883. Bookseller and publisher Josep Maria Bocabella offered the post of chief architect of the Sagrada Familia to Joan Martorell who declined the offer but recommended the promising young architect Antoni Gaudí who, despite being only 31 years old and having a mere 5 years’ experience, accepted the challenge with an enthusiasm that was to have an effect on not only his career, but also the skyline of Barcelona and the history of architecture.

La primera ruta convida a seguir les passes de Gaudí, el camí que feia diàriament des de de la seva residència del Park Güell; el segon ens porta a conèixer els domicilis de Barcelona on va viure; i el tercer, transcorre per les seves obres més destacades. Here are provided several routes that can be followed to see the buildings he designed in Barcelona, the streets he lived in, the churches he prayed in, and his daily route on his way to the Sagrada Familia. The idea of these routes is to give a better idea of the life and work of this architectural genius.

Fa 130 anys, concretament el 3 de novembre de 1883, Gaudí va assumir amb entusiasme l’encàrrec de construir una església dedicada a Jesús, Maria i Josep. El projecte marcaria no sols la seva trajectòria, sinó també la història de l’arquitectura i la silueta de Barcelona.  Antoni Gaudí is remembered as an eminent architect, famous around the world not only for the Sagrada Familia, which is still being built, but also for other buildings. Admiration for his architectural legacy has gone hand in hand with an interest in his association with the city of Barcelona.

1878

La Basílica va ser iniciada al 1882 i avui segueix en construcció. La Sagrada Família és el màxim exponent de l’arquitectura catalana. Des de l’any 2005 forma part del Patrimoni Mundial de la Unesco. El temple fou consagrat i declarat Basílica menor el 7 de novembre de 2010 pel Sant Pare Benet XVI. Està prevista la finalització de les obres per al 2026. The construction of the Sagrada Familia it is supposed to be finished on 2026.
