Avui és divendres... i anirem de viatge al nord... al fred nord! De la mà del Nordic Council farem un cop d'ull... a vista d'ocell, ben bé, dels paisatges i la cultura de Noruega, Dinamarca, Finlàndia, Islàndia i Suècia. Produced by the Nordic Council, this documentary explores the magnificent landscapes and culture of Norway, Denmark, Finland (from minute 43:43 to 51:08), Iceland and Sweden.
Del minut 43:53 fins al 51:08 trobareu Finlàndia. El recorregut comença prop de Hanko, a la costa sud-oest de Finlàndia, al far Bengtskär (1906), actualment el far més alt de tots els països nòrdics. Farem una parada a Turku per veure com anava la construcció del vaixell de creuer més gran del món, l'Allure of the Seas, el producte d'exportació més important del país que va fer el seu viatge inaugural l'any 2010. Arribem a la capital, Hèlsinki, a través de la fortalesa de Suomenlinna, que protegia la ciutat dels russos al segle 18, i observarem que, a l'estiu, la temperatura no és tan freda com pensem! Finalment, el recorregut per Finlàndia acaba al llac Saimaa on encara s'hi pot observar un ofici molt antic que ja, a Europa, només es pot veure aquí, i que s'assemblaria al que a Catalunya seria l'ofici de raier. La modernitat, però, ha fet que siguin embarcacions a motor les que ajudin a transportar els troncs per tot el llac fins a Lappeenranta, a la ribera sud. Their journey in Finland begins near the south-west coast, in Hanko, where stays the highest lighthouse in the nordic countries, the Bengtskär lighthouse (1906). Then, the journey stops again in Turku, the main ship construction port of Finland, where the biggest cruising ship of the world, the Allure of the Seas, was constructed (She left the Turku shipyard on 29 October 2010). Summer in Helsinki is not as cold as someone could imagine! Finally, Saimaa basin is now the only place in Europe where the visitor of Finland may still see one of the eldest jobs of the world, timber rafting.
