Sembla gairebé impossible de dir, però avui farem un viatge tranquil i relaxat en metro! It seems quite impossible to say, but today we will travel by subway calmly and in a relaxed way!
Adam Magyar va filmar des de l'interior dels vagons del metro la gent que esperava a les estacions de Tokyo, Nova York i Berlin, a 50 fotogrames per segon, amb una càmera d'alta velocitat. En el material resultant hi ha una estranya sensació... mentre el tren s'està movent ràpidament a través de l'estació, la gent sembla romandre immòbil. Adam Magyar, positioned himself on trains as they pulled into subway stops, filmed in Tokyo, New York and Berlin the waiting crowds at 50 frames per second using a high speed camera. The resulting footage creates an uncanny feeling as the train is clearly moving quickly through the station, but the people seem to remain motionless.
Una fila inacabable d'escultures vivents juntes a la mateixa línia de metro, prenent la mateixa direcció, la mateixa intenció de pujar al tren i quedar atrapats i arrossegats pel flux urbà. Tots els seus moviments es desacceleren, són elegants i imperturbables, contenen la respiració i esperen que el seu tren arribi a l'estació... Diu Adam Magyar. An endless row of living sculptures brought together by the same subway line, the same direction, the same intention of taking the train to get caught and carried away by the urban flow. All their motions slowed down, they are graceful and stainless, holding their breath waiting for their train to pull into the station. Says Adam Magyar.
